Maurice McCaney was born and raised in Florence, Alabama and has lived in the community his entire life. A District One boy, through and through!

Before earning his Juris Doctorate of Law at Cumberland School of Law, Maurice graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science & Sociology and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus in English from Samford University. 

​

Continuing forward, Maurice became licensed to practice law in Alabama in 2014 which provided the foundation for his current role as Partner at Woodruff & McCaney, LLC. He is currently President of the Lauderdale County Bar Association.

​

Maurice continues to give back to his community by participating on a board level in organizations like Shoals Sav A Life, The American Association of Christian Schools, Alabama Christian Education Association, ALCAP, the Shoals Symphony Orchestra at UNA, and the Lauderdale County Republican Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Cloverdale Volunteer Fire Department.

Maurice is a dedicated husband and father, and is rooted in his faith which is shown through his passionate leadership and service at

Victory Christian Academy, where he serves as Chancellor, and Victory Christian Fellowship Church, where he serves as Sunday School Teacher, and Teen Ministry Director alongside his wife of 23 years, Lorraine.

As a life-long resident of the Cloverdale community of Lauderdale County, Alabama, Maurice is dedicated to District One and is passionate about moving the District forward while focusing on the campaign issues.
